In December of 2017, I began working with Dr. Mark Morrissey at Wadsworth Lab in Albany, NY. Everyday the lab receives hundreds of newborn blood samples from hospitals and private physicians that need to be analyzed for inherited genetic disorders. Under the guidance of Dr. Mark Morrissey I will be conducting an experiment regarding the possibility of improving positve predictive values of MCADD at for the newbron screening program of New York State.
Fatty-Acid Oxidation Disorder Survey
Previous research has only studied the effects of fatty-acid oxidation disorders on children in infancy. However there is a increasingly crucial need for the analysis of the effect of fatty-acid oxidation disorder on the developing childhood mind, the adolescent mind and the adult mind. I created a survey in order to end the gap and create general understanding of how fatty-aid oxidation disorders affect the mind later on in life.
